Many people with Type 2 diabetes do not even know that they have it. Of the 29.1 million people with diabetes, 8.1 million were actually undiagnosed. So, if you are at risk for developing diabetes or have symptoms, it is important to be screened.

If there are any kids out there with Type 1 diabetes who are 7 to 16 years old, please consider attending diabetes camp this summer. It is a fun experience! The American Diabetes Association camp in Indiana is named Camp John Warvel, and it will be June 7th through June 13th. There are approximately 180 kids with type 1 diabetes that attend camp. It is like any other overnight camp, but all of the campers have type 1 diabetes. Many kids with type 1 diabetes have never met another child with diabetes; camp allows them to realize that there are many kids just like them.
